Sri Lanka’s first national defence journal will be launched in January by the Institute of National Security Studies Sri Lanka (INSSSL).
The INSSSL Defence Review will carry research papers from renowned international scholars and senior members of the military in Sri Lanka.
Set up in September this year by President Maithripala Seirisena, the INSSSL will function as a think tank in national security matters within the Defence Ministry.
President Sirisena is the President of the Institute while Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Karunasena Hettiarachchi functions as the Chairman.
Former Executive Director of the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies, Asanga Abeyagoonasekera is the Director General of INSSSL. The Institute recently released the quarterly newsletter bringing together defence related news and events that took place in the last quarter of this year. - MF
