St. Coombs Estate
St. Coombs Estate, Talawakelle achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 860 for Dust1 grade tea in the Western High Grown category by bettering its own previous record price of Rs. 850 set in 2013.
This line of tea was purchased by the Multi-Purpose Corporative Society, and the sole broker for St. Coombs is Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers (Pvt) Ltd.
St. Coombs is situated in the Dimbulla planting district at an elevation of 1,350 mts above sea level and is managed by the Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka. St. Coombs estate is currently ranked as the No. 1 estate in the Western High Grown category.
Delmar Estate
Delmar Estate, Halgranoya achieved a record price of Rs. 600 for an OP grade in the Udapussellawa category at the weekly tea auction on November 9, 2016.
This line of tea was purchased by Stassen International Limited and marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers (Pvt) Ltd. Previously they set a record price for an OP1 grade under the same category on October 19, 2016.
