Kandy is a large city in Sri Lanka. It is a city in the central hills. There are many historic places in Kandy. Some of them are the Temple of the Tooth Relic, old Royal Palaces and the shrines dedicated to Vishnu, Paththini, Natha and Katharagama. The Esala Perahera which is a cultural pageant is held once a year in Kandy.
