Once upon a time there were two mice who were great friends but they lived far apart. One mouse lived in a large town and the other mouse lived in the country. Their lifestyles were quite different.
One day Town Mouse visited the Country Mouse. He found everything in the country different and strange.
“What a funny house. What a funny bed and what funny food” he said, to his friend.
The two friends went for a walk. Suddenly, they heard a loud moo. Town Mouse was very frightened. “What is that terrible noise”? Town Mouse asked Country Mouse.” Oh, that is only a cow, don’t be scared” said Country Mouse. But Town Mouse was frightened.
The two friends walked on and suddenly they heard a great hiss. “What is that afwul noise”? asked a frightened Town Mouse. “It’s only a goose, you don’t have to be frightened” said, Country Mouse. But Town Mouse couldn’t help being frightened.
Terrible noise
Suddenly, there was a loud “whoo” from up above and it scared Town Mouse terribly. “What is that terrible noise”? cried Town Mouse. “That’s an owl, run as fast as you can” cried Country Mouse.
The two mice ran as fast as they could to the safety of Country Mouse’s home.
A very frightened Town Mouse declared "I don’t like the country. I am going back to the town”.
Town Mouse invited Country Mouse to go back with him to his town house and Country Mouse accepted.
When the two friends reached the town Country Mouse found everything very strange.
“ Your house is very funny” Country Mouse said to Town Mouse.
Funny bed
”What a funny bed and what funny food “said, Country Mouse.
The two friends set off on a walk around the town.
Suddenly, there was a loud parp, parp and it frightened Country Mouse very much. ‘What is that horrible noise”? he asked Town Mouse in a shaky voice.
“Oh, that is only a car, no need to be scared” said Town Mouse.
No sooner the parp, parp stopped they heard a loud nee naw, nee naw which again frightened Country Mouse. ‘Oh dear, what is that noise” He asked Town Mouse in a shaky voice.
“It’s only a fire engine, nothing to be scared of” said Town Mouse.
But Country Mouse was really scared. The friends walked on.
All of a sudden there was a sudden meow, meow which frightened Country Mouse again.
“What is that”/ he asked Town Mouse.
That is a cat, run as fast as you can” said, Town Mouse.
They ran and Country Mouse did not stop till he reached his home in the country.
