Hotline to report child abuse

The Police Children and Women’s Bureau has introduced a hotline to report incidents of child abuse including cyber crimes against children coinciding with Children’s Day which fell on October 1.

In an SMS to all citizens, the unit stated that abuse and exploitation of children are grave offences under Sri Lanka’s law and it was the duty of all citizens to protect them. It called on people to dial 0112444444 to report such incidents without delay.
