Sri Lanka is an agricultural country and rice is the staple food of its inhabitants. As a matter of fact, paddy cultivation has been given utmost importance in agriculture. Paddy is cultivated in the wetlands in all the districts in Sri Lanka. In ancient days, farmers used traditional systems for paddy cultivation, but modern farmers use new equipments.
