How can we make the world a better place?

30 June, 2019

The basis of the world is love and affection. This is a common phenomenon. First and foremost, love and affection must start among family members in society. A society means a collection of a number of families.

There is a saying “Charity begins at home”. One must be trained properly to love, to respect and appreciate others from his or her home itself. It is an accepted fact that home is the best place to inculcate good habits in children. There are many things that should be done to make the world a better place. Respecting each other is very significant to achieve this goal. Appreciating and admiring performances and abilities of others, paves the way for a better world.

The quality of accepting others’ views, creates a mutual understanding among people. If you follow the teachings of the Buddha and other religious leaders, it is the best way of making the world a better place. For instance, protecting the five precepts alone plays a vital role in making a better world free from killings, stealing, unlawful acts, telling lies and takings illicit liquor. If a society abstains from all these misdeeds, certainly it will lead to a better world and become a lovely place to live.
