My country is Sri Lanka. It is a small island. It is called the ‘Pearl of the Indian Ocean’. It has four main rivers. They are Mahaweli, Kelani, Kalu and Walawe. Mahaweli is the longest river in Sri Lanka. There are nine provinces and 25 districts in my country. The capital is Sri Jayawardanepura, Kotte. Sri Lanka is a Buddhist country and the majority of the population is Sinhalese. It is an agricultural country and the main crops are tea, rubber and coconut. There are important historic places such as the Dalada Maligawa, Sri Maha Bodhiya and Gal Viharaya.
