The latest book I have read is The Fellowship of the Ring which is the first novel of the The Lord of the Ring series by the British author J.R.R. Tolkien. It was first published in 1954 by George Allen and Unwin, and later by Harper Collins.

The story revolves around the young hobbit Frodo who lives in the sleepy village in the Shire. Frodo finds out that the mystery ring he finds has magical powers. Gandalf the Wizard guides Frodo and tells him to keep the ring safe. Frodo leaves his village to make a perilous journey across Middle-earth to mountain Doom.

Tolkien has written this book with great care and youwill be lost in an unknown, mythical world. I like this book because of the exciting events which are action packed. This book is considered both a heroic romance and a work of science fiction. In this book the author has created a new mythology in an invented world which has proved timeless in its appeal.
