Deaf School Past Pupils’ Association, Ratmalana AGM: Leading the deaf for 65 years...

Deaf School Past Pupils’ Association from the school for the deaf, Ratmalana will hold its 68th Annual General Meeting and the election of the office-bearers for the year 2017/2018, which is to be held on July 30 at the Stanley Hall, the school for the deaf, Ratmalana, commencing from 9 a.m. and followed by lunch.

The current President and Hony Life member Shivantha Vivekanandan who is elected its President for the 15 successive years said that his alma mater produced many distinguished past pupils.

The deaf school past pupils’ association, Ratmalana was founded in 1949 by the late Stanley Perera, late Dennis Fonseka and Ryle de Mel as a result of their sense of purpose and hard work.

It is the only deaf association which has been in existence for over 65 years that keeps the public of Sri Lanka informed about its activities.

The deaf school past pupils’ association, Ratmalana uplifted the deaf school in many ways.

He was grateful to Samanthika Jayasuriya (Principal) who is the patron of the deaf school past pupils’ association for her valuable assistance given to the association.

He also thanked the past principals, the sponsors, the well wishers, the members of the deaf school past pupils’ association, the parent teachers association of the school for the deaf, Ratmalana and the others for their useful help.

The appealed to all the past pupils to join the deaf school past pupils’ association for the sake of alma mater and he hoped that the deaf school past pupils’ association would go from strength to strength.
