Poson Poya Day is very important to Buddhists in Sri Lanka like Vesak Poya day. Arahath Mahinda Thero brought Buddhism to Sri Lanka on Poson Poya day. At that time King Devanampiyatissa ruled our country. The King met Mahinda Thero at Mihintale rock while the king was hunting deer. We celebrate Vesak poya day as well as Poson Poya Day on a grand scale. People have dansals on Poson Poya Day. Many people also go to Anuradhapura and Mihintale to worship on that day.
