Admitting the impossibility of summarising into a short article of this nature, to give an all round portrayal reflecting the greatness of an outstanding personality like the late Philip Gunewardena , I chose to revisit an old write up by me sometime ago, justifying how the references made then apply to the contemporary situations we are facing today.
