Chamarie Thapaswarage
Chamarie Thapaswarage’s fifth solo art exhibition will be held on October 20-22, 2017 at the Lionel Wendt Art Gallery, Colombo.
A graduate of fine arts of the Kelaniya University, she also holds a post-graduate degree from Post Graduate Institute of Archaeology, a Post Graduate Diploma from University of Colombo and MA from Open University. She is at present an Assistant Lecturer at the National Institute of Education.
“Woman” is the theme in all her visual creations which always showcase the image of tradition woman and her commercialized version as borne out by her solo creations such as Dying Woman, My World, Divine Woman, Durga and Black Woman.
She had secured the first place for best creations at the State Awards Ceremony 2007.
