Regarding the complaint of Northern Chief Minister C V Wigneswaran to the EU human rights inspection team, that the Sri Lanka Army is running 344 private schools in his province employing 689 Tamil women with good salaries, I would like to ask him why can’t he be happy with it. Because all the above primary schools are functioning without being closed and they are only managed or run by the Army but the teachers are educated Tamil women from the Northern Province. Thus, I do not know why the Chief Minister is worried about it when these schools are functioning. Perhaps he has to be concerned or worried if those schools do not function. I do not understand why the chief minister of the Northern Province has a severe bitterness with the Army when they are doing an excellent job to the children. The Army are human beings, they have humanism, patriotism, honesty, heroism, are sensitive and affectionate. Most of them are married; they have wives, children, mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers. They are not our enemies; they have been deployed to protect the country and the people.
C V Wigneswaran is a Sri Lankan national not born in Europe or India. He was a retired supreme Court Judge working in many parts of the country mostly in Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim people predominantly living areas. Presently he is a Chief Minister under the Sri Lankan Government. In his present capacity he should be more responsible and patriotic. It is unethical for his status to complain to the visiting EU delegation about the above matter concerning the Sri Lankan Government which could be tackled locally with the President and Prime Minister. Even though he is learned and holding an exalted position his action shows his immaturity.
Hence, as a patriotic citizen of Sri Lanka I most sincerely request the Northern Chief Minister to be more sensitive, responsible and restraint in his official duties when especially making statements or public addresses and not to destabilize or belittle our Motherland.
