The 11th European Film Festival in Colombo is back on board

The 11th edition of the European Film Festival in Colombo will be held at the Tharangani Hall, National Film Corporation from October 18 to 21. It is organised by the delegation of the European Union to Sri Lanka, to present a collection of diversified feature films and feature documentaries produced in member countries of the European Union. This is the 11th consecutive year that the festival is taking place in Colombo.

The European Film Festival promotes cultural exchanges between Europe and Sri Lanka and aims at promoting understanding between people from the two regions through cinema. This year the European Film Festival consists nine critically acclaimed feature films and feature length documentaries from the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Over the past few years, the European Film Festival in Colombo has become an increasingly popular event among local cinema-goers. Every year the festival attracts large audiences, opening up the opportunity to experience world renowned cinema in big screen for Sri Lankan movie fanatics and create a critical dialogue through European cinema.

Nine feature films and feature documentaries will be screened during the festival at the National Film Corporation, at 10.30am, 3.30pm and 6.30pm and all the films are subtitled in English. Entrance is free.
