The One Colour Rainbow

22 September, 2019

The young butterfly getting to wings
Beside a field of colourful flowers
Gleefully pondered the million things
He would do with those beauty’s lovers!
Red and blue and yellow and orange,
Purple, violet, white and fine
Blooms of diversely tempting range
Were waiting to claim him ‘only mine’!
Fluttering wings from flower to flower,
The lusting enjoyed with none to hamper
Feeling petals and hastening to devour
The heavenly tasting nectar super!
Time passed and the day was done;
Our protagonist was weary and dull.
In retrospect he analyzed all he’d done
The result of which was void and null!
For the million things he wished to do
He’d done the same thing million times:
Feeling petals and tasting nectar;
Feeling petals and tasting nectar!
