Name board vandalism at Himbutana
Ediriweera Sarachchandra Vidyalaya, Himbutana is located in the administrative limits of the Kotikawatte-Mulleriyawa Pradeshiya Sabha. In front of the main gate of the Vidyalaya, is a lane leading to a residential area, and a few months ago, a name board was put up at the turn-off to the location, bearing the name, ‘Mihiri Place.’ For some of the residents in the area, the very sight of the name on the board seemed quite ‘resentful’! The reason may be due to the fact that the residents in the housing scheme seem to belong to two rival groups!
Owing to such personal reasons, two boards, one after the other were brought down by miscreants and a third one has been put up now.
We do not know at what moment it would come down. This shows the low-bred mentality of the vandals behind this uncivilized act, without rhyme or reason, at the expense of poor tax payers.
The Pradeshiya Sabha officials and law enforcement authorities, over to you to take necessary action.
