In late February, as the new coronavirus bared its teeth in Italy, I was not too worried. The European Union was strong and I was sure they would step in with the support needed to at least curb the spread if not kill it off completely.
Yet, as the days went by I didn’t see what I wished to see and as the virus took a bulldog hold on that country I watched in open mouthed...
The murder of a single human being in a time-encapsulated moment in a single nation coalesced the killing of millions of people over hundreds of years in all nations for purpose as mere, transient and foul as a few pats on the back, a few dollars more, a few seconds of power over another living creature into a single, globe-encompassing scream of hurt and hate.

Well now! Covid-19 has taught some of our people a few lessons, reminded a lot of our people of forgotten lessons and shown all of the people that for most of our people, bad ways of doing things must be sincerely and committedly remembered lest the world, according to them, becomes lesser for their demise.
