Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine is a Marian Shrine devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary, located in Katunayake, Sri Lanka.
Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine is known to be a Miraculous Shrine, due to the fact that the Blessed Virgin Mary has made an apparition 23 separate times, and as she continues to work miracles to this day. The Shrine is preceded over by His Holiness the Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, who bore witness to the apparition of the Virgin Mary 23 times, and has also had the privilege to bear witness to an apparition of the Lord Jesus Christ, who appointed him to be a Holy Apostle, thus making him the only living Holy Apostle of the current age. He is also only the second Holy Apostle appointed by Lord Jesus Christ in the form of an apparition, with the first being His Holiness the Apostle Paul.
The Apparition Church, which was built at the behest of the apparition of the Virgin Mary, houses a statue of Mother Mary holding infant Jesus, placed in the exact spot where the Resplendent Mother’s apparition was seen.
The Miraculous Prayer, performed every Saturday during the service conducted by His Holiness the Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, is the only prayer written by an Apostle addressed directly to the Virgin Mother. Devotees flock to the Shrine grounds without fail to attend the service held by the Apostolic Father.
If you wish to take part in the Miraculous Prayer Recital devotedly which will be offered at 6pm on every Saturday in front of the Most Miraculous Statue of the Blessed Mother, you should be in the Shrine ground by 5.30pm.
Devotees, who wish to offer their prayers in front of the Statue of Most Blessed Virgin Mary with Baby Jesus, established in the Shrine Ground (the Apparition Ground) of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, where Blessed Virgin Mary made her appearance in person, could enter the Shrine Ground daily between 6 am to 10 pm.
At Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, you may silently offer Rosary and could offer your prayers freely without any disturbance, and to your heart’s content.
This Most Sacred Miraculous Shrine is situated at Negombo, western province of Sri Lanka, opposite 20th Mile Post Junction, on Colombo - Negombo road. The 20th Mile Post Junction is also known as the turn off junction to the Sri Lanka Air Force Camp. Though this Shrine is located by the side of the road, the environment around the Statue of Most Blessed Virgin Mary is surrounded with gates, to enable you to offer your prayers in an appropriate atmosphere.
