Sri Lanka women’s cricket team has the psychological advantage over their rivals from Bangladesh when they meet in the third and final ODI at the SSC ground Maitland Place today.
With Sri Lanka leading the series 1-0 they are expected to be able to repeat their last performance in the second ODI which they won by a convincing 58 runs.
Sri Lanka’s skipper Chamari Atapattu will have to bear in mind that she would have to bat wisely to keep Sri Lanka’s chances of winning.
Nevertheless, there are other talented players in opener Vishmi Gunaratne, Harshitha Samarawickrema, Anushka Sanjeewani and Kavisha Dilhari who can make useful contributions with the bat.
Bangladesh women will look for an improved performance with the intention of levelling the series although they have failed to produce big scores in their last game and have the potential to make useful contributions.
They will bank particularly on their skipper Nigar Sultana Joty who has been quite effective with her off-spin bowling and the knack to make a useful contribution with the bat in the middle order. (TBR)
