The government has decided to extend the increased fuel quota by another week. The fuel quota was increased for the festive season.
Power and Energy State Minister D.V. Chanaka said that authorities will analyse the data on fuel consumption during the period when the fuel quota was increased and decide whether or not to implement this quota further.
In the last week, the sale of fuel under QR code had increased significantly.
According to the demand for fuel during the festive season, the daily fuel distribution has been increased for the next few days, according to the Ministry.
Accordingly 4,650 metric tonnes of petrol 92 and 5,500 metric tonnes of auto diesel will be issued daily.
