Holy Week in pictures

Sri Lanka’s diversity was on full display last week, as four religions marked their holy days concurrently. On April 5, the Sunday Observer covered the Bak Full Moon Poya Day at the Gangaramaya Temple as well as a Jewish Seder dinner at the Colombo Chabad House. We also attended Iftar dinners at the Independence Square on April 2 and at the Kirulapone Jummah Masjid on April 6 and attended Good Friday Mass on April 7. This year marks one of just three times in a century when Ramadan, the Passover and Easter fall in the same week.
