Several items such as air conditioners, televisions and other goods have been taken into custody by the Sri Lankan Customs for illegal importation into Sri Lanka.
It is reported that these goods were imported from the United Arab Emirates claiming to be used machinery
Customs stated that among the cargo that was confiscated there were 68 television sets, 77 air conditioners, used tires and other machinery.
Deputy Director of Customs Mr. RS Weerasiri said that the goods were taken into custody by the officers of the Central Goods Inspection Division of Sri Lanka Customs.
