An all-night pirith chanting ceremony to mark the 137th birth anniversary of D. R. Wijewardene, founder of the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd.
will be held at the Lake House premises today.
The pirith chanting ceremony will begin at 10 pm and will be conducted by Maha Sangha led by Ven. Dr. Ittademaliye Indasara Thera of the Sambuddhaloka Viharaya, Fort.
Transport, Highways and Mass Media Minister, Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, Mass Media State Minister Shantha Bandara, Lake House Chairman and Mass Media Ministry Secretary Anusha Palpita, Wijeya Newspapers Chairman Ranjith Wijeyawardene and Lake House staff and family members will take part.
The Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation’s City FM service will broadcast live the Pirith chanting ceremony.
An alms-giving for the Maha Sangha will be held tomorrow.
