Sujeewa Malkanthi, a visually-impaired single mother, needs urgent help to pay her bills and medical expenses. She lives with her son in Kelaniya and walks miles in Pettah and Borella and travels as far as Nugegoda and Ja-Ela to sell incense sticks to make a living. She is scheduled for a surgery to remove a large abscess on her neck and would soon need money to buy medicines.
Her electricity connection was suspended recently due to arrears of over Rs 46,000. Malkanthi said that she and her son are struggling to live due to the high cost of living and would appreciate some help.
