The 161st annual feast of St. Mary’s church, Mattakkuliya will be celebrated on Sunday, December 11,2022, said the parish priest Rev. Fr. Ajith Rohan Perera(OMI).
Rev. Fr. Perera said that this year’s theme is “Let’s embrace the Kingdom of God with Mary”.
The flagstaff was hoisted on Thursday, December 1 .The daily Novenas will continue till December 9.
Vespers will be sung on Saturday, December 10 at 7 pm presided over by Rev. Fr. Irwin Moraes OMI. Fr. Moraes will also preside at the English Mass at 6.30 am on December 11.
Rev. Fr. Mark Fernando (TOR), will officiate at the festive High Mass on Sunday, December 11 at 8 am.
The procession carrying the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary will begin at 5 pm and parade the environs of the church, Fr. Perera added.
