Rathnavali girls bow out champs at All-Island School Games

The champion Rathnavali Balika Vidyalaya squad comprising Sandali Weerasinghe (captain), K. Wijesekara, Chamasha Edirisinghe, Anjali Gamhewage, Kavya Poornima, Maleesha Wickramasinghe, Vihangi Perera, Manudi Vihansha, Hashini Wijesinghe, Dewmi Pabasara, Ashmitha Gunasekara, Samara Kasundi, Supipi Pemakantha, Vihangi Gunasinghe, Kavishki Hashmika, Gayan Munasinghe (coach) and Anusha Gunasekara (teacher in charge) pose for a ceremonial picture

Rathnavali Balika Vidyalaya Gampaha emerged champions when they beat Wadduwa Central by six wickets in the final in the girls cricket tournament in the All Island Schools Games 2022 conducted by the Ministry of Education at Prison ground Anuradhapura last month. A total of 27 girls teams participated from nine Provinces. A special award was presented to Sandali Weerasinghe the skipper of Rathnavali who was adjudged player of the tournament.

Third placed team was Jayanthi National School, Nikaweratiya of the North Western Province.
