Army men and women win rowing Nationals

Army’s men and women emerged champions at the 37th Rowing Nationals held at the Diyawanna Koswatte yesterday.

Ananda College clinched the boys’ title while Ladies College emerged girls winners in the junior Nationals that concluded yesterday.

Among the men’s events rowers from Air Force, Navy and Colombo Rowing Club did well to finish among the top three.

Besides Ananda College, the boys from Asian International School (AIS), Royal College and Gateway College also made their presence felt.

The girl rowers from Ladies College, Methodist College, Bishop’s College and AIS were dominant among the girls events. Ladies College won the girls Under-14 title while Royal College won the boys title. The girls under-16 title was won by Asian International School while St. Joesph’s College won the boys title.
