Artificial limbs for battle heroes

The Rana Viru Seva Authority (RVSA) has taken the initiative to provide artificial limbs worth Rs.10 million to 167 differently-abled battle veterans.

After handing over 152 artificial limbs to the RVSA based on the needs of battle heroes all over the island, Chairman, Director and Officers of the Rehabilitation and Post-treatment Division monitored the quality of those artificial limbs and discussed the distribution plan.

The chairman also commended the staff of the Rehabilitation and Post-treatment Division for their efforts in directing the disability assistance equipment to the districts within a short period of time.

Commencing the inaugural phase of the artificial limbs distribution, 118 differently-abled battle veterans around the island will be given artificial limbs with the involvement of Tri-Forces personnel working in RVSA.

Accordingly, those artificial limbs were despatched to Ratnapura, Kegalle, Kandy, Matale, Nuwara Eliya, Kurunegala, Puttalam, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa on January 20, 2022.
