Autism is not a disability, it’s just a different ability

30 January, 2022

Sabrina Gomez is the mother of three children and the wife of Patrick Gomez, a wealthy businessman.

Sabrina had two daughters and a son. Her daughters, Capri and Annabeth were the best students in their classes. Sabrina seemed to have the best life anyone could ever have. She had money, fame and talented children. She had it all, and everyone thought so too.

But it was a whole different story for Sabrina. She might look like the happiest woman ever but at home she was depressed, for her son Bobby was autistic. Sabrina always took special care of her son.

Because Bobby was autistic, he was home schooled. Although he was autistic Sabrina knew he was a very special boy. She would always take Bobby to a number of extracurricular activities especially sports.

But Bobby never seemed to like any of that.

Whenever Sabrina took Bobby for sports he would always cry all day and come home. Bobby’s sisters also loved him so much andwould always take good care of him whenever their mother was away.

Bobby didn’t like sports at all. So for his 11th birthday his father bought him a guitar. Bobby was thrilled. Bobby was happier than ever. Soon Bobby was given guitar lessons by the best guitar teachers in the country. Not long after Bobby keeps getting better and better at it. And before he knew it he was the best guitarist in the entire country.

Autism is not a disability it’s just a different ability.

Being different from others is not something that you should be ashamed of, it’s something you should be proud of because the differences between us are the things that make us, us.

Many people have different views about autism. Autism may be only one simple word, but this one word comes many forms in the way it could affect people with this disability.

Autism should not be looked down on as much as this disability is from others in society. Just because people with autism look or sound different doesn’t mean that they are less greater than us. Just because someone has a disability doesn’t mean that they can’t be successful because disabilities don’t disable dreams.
