At Gallery Four Life

Since March 2020, I was thinking there is a drastic change in our human culture which had strongly affected to our day-to-day behaviours. This June, I wanted to roam around Colombo and spend some time in streets to capture the moments of street lives. While I was walking with my friend to the heart of Colombo, I felt something mysterious and that sight took me to a frame of “I am Legend” movie of Will Smith’s. Seeing places where we used to hang around with friends at night with empty seats awakened my nostalgia for a moment. Some homeless people roam around without a hope, contrarily the only hope they might have “live today”.

These images contain lost but deserved sensations of all living souls. Photographer Shivantha Silva reveal his extraordinary stories and emotions through photographs he takes. He was born in 1997 in Sri Lanka. He was into paintings while he was schooling. Apart from that he used take pictures from his mobile and do some editing as a hobby.

After he left school, he started his career as a tea taster. Meantime he started self-learning about fine art photography.

Shivantha was obsessed with black and white photography since his young days. In black and white photography, you can converse deep languages in a minimal frame. He sees simplicity in two deep colours of black and white.

As a photographer Shivantha always capture his moments in black and white. His main genres are street art photography, portraits and conceptual fine art in black and white.
