Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott are being called out for possibly buying a school bus for their three-year-old daughter Stormi Webster.
As noted by ’Page Six’, Kylie recently shared a few snaps of Stormi to Instagram Stories, sharing that the toddler has been obsessed with school buses lately. According to Kylie, Travis surprised Stormi with one so she can live out her dreams, but Twitter has some thoughts about this over-the-top gift. “All Stormi has been talking about is riding a big yellow bus. Daddy surprised her,” Kylie wrote in her Stories.
While it isn’t known if Travis bought the bus or if it was rented for a day or two, the pics of Stormi on board a bus brought back all sorts of memories, good and bad, for Twitter users, and some accused the mega-rich Kylie and Travis for “cosplaying middle class” with the gift.
“Saw Kylie’s story about Travis ‘surprising’ Stormi with a yellow school bus so she can pretend to be middle class for the day and I damn near broke my ankle running to Twitter,” wrote one. “Travis Scott ‘surprising’ Stormi with a school bus like it’s a brand new dollhouse is the funniest shit I’ve seen all day,” tweeted another.
Some Twitter users pointed out that the classic yellow bus to school isn’t likely to be something Stormi will ever have to experience, given her parents’ income and careers. “Stormi is so rich her dad Travis surprised her with a yellow school bus so she can act middle class for the day,” wrote one Twitter user. “Obsessed with the thought that Travis Scott paid an absurd amount of money to rent this raggedy public school bus for Stormi. Some of my worst childhood memories were made on this bus… for free,” tweeted another.
“I feel like Travis buying Stormi a school bus so she can role play being a normal kid is going to be an event she’ll have to unpack in therapy one day,” tweeted writer Emily Kirkpatrick. Others saw it as a splashy display of wealth. “Rich people are literally so far from reality they bought a school bus for Stormi to sit on,” wrote another.
Travis and Kylie have not responded to any comments about the gift, but these over-the-top gifts are pretty par for the course for Stormi. For Christmas, Travis gave her a Cinderella carriage filled with princess dresses, and she’s got an enviable collection of designer bags. She’s also had some serious birthday parties, including two “Stormiworld” amusement park-themed parties, not to mention helming her own Kylie Cosmetics collection. It’s Stormi’s world, and we’re all just living in it.
