The lake by my house gently flows
Where she flows nobody knows
The moment I catch her wrinkling waves
Peace and serenity runs my nerves
When pelicans come and as they go
I learn how Nature is patterned for
With gleaming eyes across the lake waters
I hopefully wait to meet them next quarter
Soothing breezes coming from where?
They suddenly vanish without telling me
Is Nature all about meeting and parting?
I’m lost in my thoughts everlasting
