The minor health workers staged a token strike till 1.00pm on Friday over four main demands.
The strike was organised by the All Ceylon Health Trade Union Federation (ACHTUF) claiming the discussions held on Wednesday with Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi to settle their grievances were unfruitful.
A spokesman for the Association said, except for one demand - to make the assistant health workers permanent employees - the solutions proposed for their main demands were not satisfactory.
The provision of a reasonable allowance for non-medical health staffers and provision of free transport to their members on Covid duty are among the other demands.
The strike affected the ongoing state vaccination program.
