Former Sri Lanka fast bowler Nuwan Zoysa, now 42, has been banned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) from all activities connected to the sport for a period of six years.

He was found guilty by the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Tribunal for playing a part in manipulating the result of a match or matches which is declared immoral and unlawful for self gain while at the same time failing to notify the ICC of corrupt practices promoted by shady characters.

His ban was back dated to October 2018 when he was suspended while the investigation was being carried out in connection with a T/10 championship in the UAE.

Former fast bowler Dilhara Lokuhettige was also banned this month for breaching the ICC’s anti-corruption code.

Zoysa represented Sri Lanka in 30 Tests and 95 ODIs.
