MCA ‘G’ division cricket to start on March 13

The Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA) will run the last lap of its 2020 league season by staging their ‘G’ division 25-over tournament for the Honda Challenge Trophy sponsored for the 10th successive year by Stafford Motor Company.

The tournament with the participation of 17 teams will get under way next weekend on March 13 and 14.

The 17 teams pooled into four groups are as follows.

Group ‘A’: Hayleys Group RC ‘B’, Zilione Technologies, Singer ‘B’, NDB ‘B’ and Aitken Spence

Group ‘B’: Hilton Colombo Residencies, Kish Group, MD Gunasena and Regnis Lanka

Group ‘C’: Pyramid Wilmer, VS Information, Ship Xpress and CIC Group

Group ‘D’: Abans, A Baur & Company, Orient Finance and ACL Cables.

The round robin Stage, consisting 28 matches will commence on March 13 and will run up to March 28.

The second stage of the tournament, the knock-out is scheduled to take place on April 3 and 4 (pre-quarter finals), April 10 (quarter finals) April 24, 25 (semi-finals) and final on May 2, at the MCA ground.
