Nine volleyball heads in parliament

Nine officials who have served as presidents and vice presidents of the Volleyball Federation of Sri Lanka and district associations have been elected to parliament including the current head of the parent body Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.

The nine are Ranjith Siyambalapitiya (president Volleyball Federation of Sri Lanka), Dilan Perera (Badulla district), Dilum Amunugama (Kandy district), Sudarshani Fernandopulle (Gampaha district), Piyal Nishantha (Puttalam), Santha Bandara (Kurunegala), Weerasumana Weerasinghe (Matara), Nimal Lanza (Gampaha) and Palani Digambaran (Nuwara Eliya).

Dilum Amunugama, Sudarshani Fernandopulle, Piyal Nishantha and Nimal Lanza are State Ministers with Dilum Amunugama (Vehicle Regulation, Bus Transport Services and Carriages and Automotive Industries), Sudarhsani Fernandopulle (Prisons Reforms and Prisoners’ Rehabilitation), Piyal Nishantha (Women and Child Development, Pre-School and Primary Education, School Infrastructure and School Services) and Nimal Lanza (Road and Infrastructure Facilities).

Present president of the Federation Ranjith Siyambalapitiya and former head of the Federation Dilan Perera won in the Kegalle and Badulla districts respectively. (KI)
