Tennis ready to resume in Sri Lanka

12 July, 2020

The Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) is ready to resume the clay court Nationals at their courts from July 18 after it was halted two days into its commencement due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Soon after the completion of the clay court Nationals the SLTA will begin to conduct the National championships according to Iqbal Bin Issack the president of SLTA. However, SLTA did not take their chances at exposing the players to the risk of contracting the infection and held a mock tournament in the presence of health and Sports Ministry officials. They were present to observe the safety standards used by the SLTA during the tournament and approved the safety methods used during the tournament.

That tournament was run from June 27 and the players from all age groups were invited to compete and crowd was restricted to not more than 25 at the venue.
