DASSANAYAKE - CHITRA RATWATTE - Beloved wife of the late Professor M.D. Dassanayake, loving mother of Damitha and Ujitha, mother-in-law of Franz Molamure and Dr. Puyanganie, precious Aththammi of Achindra, daughter of the late Alfred & Medduma Menike Kumarihamy Ratwatte, sister of the late Clement, Agnes, Mallika, Theodore, Hubert, Marcia, Lionel, Chandra and Damayantha; and of Dr. Asoka. Passed away on the 11th of June. A private funeral was held on the 13th of June in Kandy. 030792

RAMANATHAN JESUTHASAN GUNARATNAM - Has gone home to be with his Lord,​ in his 96th year on 14th June 2020. He is the youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs M.R. Ramanathan,​ and son in law of the late Rev. and Mrs N. Kathiravelu. His beloved wife Thangaranee,​ and all his seven brothers and sisters had predeceased him. A pioneering industrialist,​ who founded the first,​ privately owned power loom factory,​ Ceyma Silk Industries in Jaffna,​ providing employment opportunities for local community. He was also the Proprietor of ‘Saree Emporium’ which provided the fineries for the brides of Jaffna. Wherever he lived he found ways to fulfill his burning desire to serve his fellow citizens. He leaves behind his devoted children,​ Chrishanthy,​ Roshan and Niranjan and their spouses,​ Nanthan Paramanantham,​ Pramo Muttucumaru and Diyana Sanders. He is a cherished grandfather of Praveen,​ Prem,​ Menaha,​ Thulasi,​ Mythili and also,​ of Michelle,​ Ishani and Keith. A darling great granddad to Verdy,​ Rocco,​ Kodiak,​ Dylan,​ Paige and Caleb. Much adored uncle to an army of nieces,​ nephews,​ their families and to many friends who mourn his loss. A private family funeral will be held on the 24th June,​ at the Hendon Crematorium in London.
