AACB Amarasinghe and Methushi Fernando with their chess trophies
AACB Amarasinghe, an undergraduate at the Sri Jayawardenepura University emerged the overall Open chess champion while Methushi Fernando, a student of Panadura Lyceum International School won the women’s title at the Kalutara International 8th Chess Festival at the Hotel White Haven, Panadura recently.
Over 350 chess players from all parts of the island participated in the tournament held from January 15 to 19 January 2020.
Cash prizes, certificates, medals and Cups for the winners were presented to the winners according to the organisers.
