After a closely contested final that ended in a nil-all draw, Old Sylvestrians SC and Old Vidyarthians SC ended joint champions in the first ever hockey tournament for the new year that was held at the Peradeniya Campus ground on Friday.
This under-21 inter-club hockey tournament organized by the Kandy District Hockey Association saw KH & FC finish in third place.
Six teams, Old Sylvestrians SC, Old Vidyarthians SC, KH & FC, TCH SC, Old Kingswoodians SC and Old Rajans SC were in the fray.
In the semi-finals Old Sylvestrians beat TCH SC 1-0 and Old Vidyarthians SC beat KH & FC 5-4.
The best player of the tournament was A. Kalhara (Old Vidyarthians SC) and the best goal keeper was MHK Alwis (Old Sylvestrians SC)
