SSC routed Tamil Union by 200 runs in their SLC Invitation limited overs cricket tournament fixture played at the NCC ground yesterday.
SSC batted first and scored 299 runs for six wickets in their fifty overs. Dimuth Karunaratne top scored with 70 while Sandun Weerakkody made 62 as they associated in a partnership of 129 runs.
Tamil Union could reply with only 99 runs in 24 overs. They were 75 for six wickets at one stage but spin bowlers Sachithra Senanayake and Jeffry Vandersay wrapped up the tail easily. Senanayake finished with 4 for 15 off 7 overs while Vandersay claimed 3 for 3 off just two overs.
