No more daffodils

22 December, 2019

When Death rattled the gates on the twelfth,

You feared not,

For you were prepared to meet Him long before.

Now you are ceased like Lucy of Wordsworth’s,

Oh! The pain to me

I remember how we toured around the world of Literature,

You showed me the fields of daffodils;

we revisited Tintern Abbey, met Michael,

Praised the simplicity and innocence of Lucy

But where are you today?

Oh! The shock to me

Your whole life, a lesson to me

That enlightened my days.

If you can but hear

This song of praise,

Of Your beloved student…
