Emerge partners with shelters to transform them into entrepreneurship hubs, where girls develop the business and life skills needed for self-sufficiency. It aims to empower resident girls with the personal, social, and financial capital needed to support themselves and their children and to solve their own community’s most pressing problems. The event also had a stall with jewellery made by girls in the shelters, with 50 per cent of the selling price going back to the girls who created the pieces.
