
The Galadari Colombo celebrates its 35th Anniversary today. The story of the Galadari Colombo which opened its doors in 1984 is a remarkable tale of continual improvement of product and brand. The hotel has over three decades of expertise in hospitality and is proud to stand tall as a firm contender in the industry.
The General Manager Sampath Siriwardena at a media briefing on October 1st was proud of the fact that the Galadari Colombo despite the recent upheavals in the hotel industry continues with its phenomenal splendour as a standalone hotel.
He outlined the events for the celebration of the anniversary beginning on Saturday October 5 with a Road race for the staff and a Raffle Draw with attractive prizes. An all- night Pirith ceremony will be held tonight with the traditional Dana: The Pirith will be for the staff and their family members in remembrance of colleagues who lost their lives in the 1997 October 15, WTC bomb disaster as well as those colleagues who departed under other tragic circumstances.
A special Multi Religious Service will be held tomorrow and the hotel’s anniversary celebrations will end with a grand staff party and service awards on October 8. The hotel with Manusath Derana has undertaken a youth recruitment campaign in the area of Kohombagaskada Vidyalaya, Kahatagasdigiliya as a CSR project. This will offer the youth of the area to be trained and later absorbed into the hotel’s workforce.
The General Manager reiterated that their celebration of 35 years has been a memorable and exceptional service in hospitality. With the hotel’s refurbishment plans in progress the property will make further transition to meet the modern demands of the industry whilst keeping to its commitment of exceptional service and unwavering Sri Lankan hospitality.
