Brazilian food promotion at Hilton Colombo Residences

6 October, 2019

Hilton Colombo Residences announced the launch of its Brazilian Food Promotion, ‘Sabores do Brasil’ at its main restaurant, FLOW, from October 3 to 12. This dining promotion will feature three guest chefs from Hilton hotels in Brazil: Barra, Copacabana, and São Paulo; offering buffet dinner, exclusive chef’s table, and fun cooking master classes.

The Embassy of Brazil in Colombo partners with Hilton Colombo Residences to make this event a success. Sabores do Brasil - Flavours of Brazil will feature recipes of three chefs who draw their inspiration from family members that have been perfected over the years.

Growing up in Piedmont, Moreno Colosimo, Executive Chef of Hilton Barra Rio de Janeiro, understood at a very young age that food was a pivotal part of his family. Every Sunday was a feast at their home where a meal fit for a king was made from scratch - young Moreno’s passion for food was heightened by both his grandmothers, who were excellent cooks. Their legacies live on in and through Moreno whose recipes are lovingly shared through his inspired creations that span over 26 years in nine countries. He has been named in the Michelin guide in Canvas, São Paulo, and gathered many accolades to his credit.

For Felipe Moreira, Sous Chef - Hilton Rio de Janeiro Copacabana, cooking is a way of revisiting some of his favourite memories while growing up. His comfort food is country-style cooking that is reminiscent of his grandmother’s home-cooked meals. A graduate of Alain Ducasse’s school of gastronomy, Felipe counts eleven years of professional experience in major hotel chains and distinguished restaurants in Rio de Janeiro where he honed his passion for Brazilian cooking.

From a young age, Rodrigo Mezadri, Executive Chef of Hilton São Paulo has appreciated the art of cooking and good food. He says that great food is the platform of great conversations. For fourteen years, Rodrigo built a name for himself that is synonymous with his inventive take on Brazilian fare, as he rose to the position of executive chef at Hilton São Paulo.

Speaking of the event, Linda Giebing, General Manager, Hilton Colombo Residences said the hotel is exploring culinary to reinforce FLOW’s positioning as a multi-cuisine restaurant. “This year we explored two other cuisines that were well received in Colombo and now we have ventured out into Brazil. We have the ready support from our colleagues from three Hilton hotels in Brazil who have expressed their enthusiasm to bring this dining experience to Colombo”.

Priyal Wijesuriya, director of Food & Beverage of Hilton Colombo Residences said, “Three acclaimed chefs from Hilton Barra, Hilton Copacabana, and Hilton São Paulo will be joining us to bring three unique experiences in Sri Lanka - dinner buffet, chef’s table, and culinary master classes. They bring culinary inspiration that has been honed over the years that will be an added advantage to the Colombo dining scene.”
