Old calendars
Are put aside,
Replaced by the new,
With printed days
Still unlived.
Yesterday has gone,
Unexpected things
Lie in store,
Let’s make the most
Of every moment
With no regrets,
Before the day ahead
Disappears with
The sinking sun.
A heart content,
Full of peace,
Devoid of greed, hate, ill-will
A mind purified,
With compassion, love,
Forgiveness and tolerance.
Facing the future,
with courage and serenity,
And malice to none.
