Sri Lanka Cricket election faces first ball

28 October, 2018

A special general meeting has been convened on November 12 by the Competent Authority of Sri Lanka Cricket to finalise arrangements for an election of office-bearers.

Sri Lanka Cricket is currently without a set of elected office-bearers following the postponement of the election on a court order which prompted Sports Minister Faiszer Musthapha to set up a Competent Authority to run the affairs of cricket.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given Sri Lanka a deadline to hold an election or face the consequences.

To pave the way for the election, notices have been sent to the membership of Sri Lanka Cricket to attend the November 12 meeting.
