Great Stars SC of Beruwela clinched the Premier League Division II football title when they beat Singing Fish SC Jaffna 2-1 in the final played at the Durayappa Stadium in Jaffna last Sunday.
Great Stars took the lead in the 49th minute when Kavindu scored the goal and increased the lead when Fainaz scored another goal in the 62nd minute to make it 2-0.
Singing Fish scored their solitary goal in the 75th minute when Keethan did the honours.
Rimzan and Fainaz of Great Stars were shown yellow cards while Keethan of Singing Fish was also shown the yellow card.
Ajith Kumara was adjudged as the most valuable player of the final match that was witnessed by a large gathering.
