HelpAge Cards in aid of cataract surgeries

HelpAge Sri Lanka (HASL) has produced over 500,000 new collection of non seasonal greeting cards.

The proceeds from the sales are utilized to perform cataract surgeries completely free of charge to underprivileged elderly citizens over 55 years at the HelpAge Eye Hospital, Sinsapa Road, Wellawatta, Colombo 6 (opposite Savoy Cinema)

Accordingly, HelpAge this year produced a large collection of non seasonal greeting cards including Birthday cards, Wedding cards, Thank You cards, cards for Newborn Babies, Get-Well cards, Teacher’s Day cards, World Mothers’ and Fathers’ Day and Sympathy cards.

All greeting cards are adorned with colourful graphic designs and printed on imported linen board, HASL, Fund- Raising Manager Ruchilalani Batuwantudawa said.

Executive Director Samantha Liyanawaduge said, the HelpAge Eye Hospital performs 20 free cataract surgeries during week days to the needy, and requested elders to have their visions restored free of charge at the hospital.

He said the general public could contribute towards this worthy cause by purchasing greeting cards .

Cards are available at leading bookshops and at Supermarkets, including Cargills, Keells, Arpico and Laugfs and at HelpAge Head Office, No- 102, Pemananda Mawatha, Raththanapitiya , Boralesgamuwa.
